RockStack Partner Network

Be the advisor other advisors trust to refer.

Owners don’t ignore good advice. They ignore strangers. The Partner Network is where trust gets built, so when another advisor introduces you, you arrive warm.

"Take me off your list."

Trust can't be cold-called.

Owners have too little time and too many offers. Every week brings another pitch from someone they’ve never met, so they only listen to people someone they trust has recommended. Everyone else is noise, no matter how good the offer.

They don’t ignore you because your idea is bad. They ignore you because they don’t know you, and nobody they trust has vouched for you.

The fix isn’t a better pitch. It’s arriving warm.

"I know someone you should meet."

Trust comes through frequency, understanding, and affinity.

  • Frequency. Repeated contact with the same advisors over time: one-to-one, at events, and for some, in the Value Advisors Group. Trust doesn’t form in one meeting.
  • Understanding. You learn what the others actually do, and they learn what you do. Along the way, you sharpen your own value proposition through the lens of other value proposers.
  • Affinity. Relationships deep enough that an introduction carries real weight.

This is a referral trust network, not a referral fee network. Trust is the only currency.

"Where do I start?"

From cold approach to warm referral.

1. Start with a conversation.

Thirty minutes about your practice: who you serve, which part of an owner’s business you improve, and where you might fit.

2. Build trust.

Join the RockStack Partner Network through one-to-one conversations and occasional social events. As trust builds, there are select opportunities to join the Value Advisors Group: one advisor per category, six half-day meetings a year, with virtual sessions in between.

3. Refer and be referred.

Advisors who know your work introduce you to the owners they serve. You arrive warm, through someone the owner already trusts.

"Where do I fit?"

Every advisor here strengthens part of an owner's business.

The work runs in eight areas, from the owner’s personal readiness to the day the business changes hands. Every advisor in the network strengthens at least one of them. The network is for the advisors who do the work with owners, not their business development teams.

"Who's in the room?"

One advisor per category. Trust, built on purpose.

The Value Advisors Group is the core of the network: one advisor from each category, six half-day meetings a year, with virtual sessions in between, and expert speakers throughout. Seats go to the advisor who does the work, not to business development staff.

Members get to know each other’s work well enough to refer with confidence. And every member sharpens their own value proposition through the lens of other value proposers.

There’s no application. As trust builds in the Partner Network, there are select opportunities to join. Membership dues are discussed in our first conversation.

"Can I trust you?"

What you can count on.

  • You keep your client. We never compete for your work, and we never introduce anyone who does.
  • The client-advisor relationship is sacred. What’s shared between an advisor and a client stays between them. Only the client can choose to share it with their other advisors.
  • What’s said in the room stays in the room. Members sign a confidentiality agreement, and no client’s details are shared without that client’s consent.
  • One seat per category. In the Value Advisors Group, nobody in the room is competing with you for the same referral.
  • No referral fees, in either direction.
FAQ

Questions advisors ask

No. The Partner Network is free. It’s a set of relationships, built one-to-one and at occasional events. The Value Advisors Group carries membership dues, which we discuss in our first conversation. No one in either pays or receives referral fees.

When an owner needs a specialist, I encourage them to keep the advisor they already have. If there’s a gap, I give several names, matched to the size of the business and the owner’s intentions, so the owner chooses. Introductions go to advisors I know and trust, and that trust takes time to build. I’m sure you work the same way.

There’s no application. The group has one seat per category, and seats open as the group forms and grows. As trust builds in the Partner Network, there are select opportunities to join. If you’re interested, say so in our first conversation.

No. The network is built through one-to-one conversations and occasional social events. The Value Advisors Group is where members meet regularly: six half-day meetings a year, with virtual sessions in between.

So we can work with all of them. Financial advisors often quarterback an owner’s personal advisory team, and choosing one would put us in competition with the rest. They have their own page and their own way to work with us.
